The property:  This 400 acre farm has a spectacular lookout with views deep into Victoria's High Country.  The property in completely surrounded by forest and boasts a pristine creek.

Facilities for you:  Self catering - camping, dormitory, cabin and B&B accommodation available.  Gas stove and fridge, flush toilets, hot showers, tables and benches are all provided.  There is an outside or indoor fireplace and a large deck overlooking a picturesque lake.  This property is ideally suited to groups of families and horse riding clubs.

Facilities for your horse:  Post and rail yards, paddocks, on-site feed available (or BYO). BYO fencing permitted.

Other facilities:  Various trails available both on the property and off.  Ride around the historic Howqua Hills area and into the Alpine National Park.  River crossings, formed trails and spectacular views abound, with optional steeper tracks if required.  They didn't film "The Man from Snowy River" here without reason!  Dogs are welcome.

Other facilities:  There are various riding trails from Nug Nug to Lake Buffalo, Mt Buffalo National Park and the surrounding Nug Nug hills.  Lake Buffalo, only 5 minutes away, also offers relaxing fishing, boating or swimming.  Or simply  fish from the banks of the property's river frontage.

The property:  The Willows, Anglers Rest, is a 350acre high country farm nestled amongst farm lands and National Park in the hidden Bundarrah Valley of the Omeo region in East Gippsland, Victoria.   A good 5 1/2hr drive from Melbourne, it’s a remote part of Victoria reached by roads weaving through river valleys and mountains.

Facilities for you:  Accommodation is available in the historic O’Connells Hut, a log cattleman's hut built around 1904. Also available is the converted Shearers Hut, built in the 1940’s.  The comfortable rustic, self contained huts are more suited to those who enjoy the outdoor life with wood-burners, outdoor toilet, gas lights and bbq facilities. They are both one roomed, open plan with a double and single bed in each. Linen is supplied. Due to the remote location there’s no mains power - so no hairdryers!

Or - join in one of their adventurous horse riding safaris!

Other facilities:  There’s easy private access to the river for fishing or swimming. The Blue Duck Inn and its great country pub grub is 3km away.
